woooow, what can i say… already more than a month and on the road!! yaaaaiii it-s amazing… sorry, i couldn’t update my blog and i still have so much to do with it but i haven’t fund the time to do it propperly, plus… my computer die and i’m using right now my host family’s computer… soooooo
in Tucson , we have our first CI (community impact) in the Giving tree, (www.thegivingtreeoutreachprogram.org) i can say… that the chat that we had with the representative of the giving tree was mostly informative, although i kinda hope that we could do a little bit more… i mean, we work a lot but i felt that we could do even more to make them happy and believe that we can make changes without even realize that we’re doing it!.
i saw… the look… of a man who couldn’t believe what he was seeing, when we arrive we didn’t think about anything we just wanted to help, to get to work immediately. it was awesome how we get to know all this people there, and the kids just asking us why we were doing all this, and with a look on their faces… they couldn’t believe it… that there are people out there willing to take a chance to do something more, to stand and say i can do it, and i will do it… not just say it or thinking, but actually doing it…
after that… more rehersal, and the reunion at the Marriot in Tucson… was amazing, getting to know all this people that traveled before us, and made them feel all what we’re living now, made them remember what they felt when they went through this… is unbelievable. like a huge family, because everyone was hugging eachother and hugging us, and they didn’t even know us! truly, unbelievable…
today was our first full show in Marana, yes people! we’re now in Marana!, my host family is totally amazing! i love them so much and i don’t wanna leeeave!!!… this monday we’re going to the hopi nation, so it’ll be a looong time for the next update… cause there’s no internet there…
this week, we went to the Estes Elementary school… was absolutely amazing… 4th and 6th grade!… they’re sooo cute! and they even asked for our autographs! that was a surprise for me haha i’ve never done that before!… and they actually came to the show today to perform in the children chorus that we have for one song in our show… they were sooo exited about it…
there’s so many things that i can actually talk about it!
UPDATE: apparently this was the whole time in the drafts! omg, i can believe it.. but i will be posting more and more about this whole experience…
thank you for your patience…
well, almost a week in Tucson… it was a pretty crazy week, too many adjustments to do, a little bit drastic, tiredness, a little bit of stress, host family and roommate change, and it wasn’t so good from the biggining. last saturday we get into a “crisis point” where the lack of communication, tiredness and a bit of hysteria made that we explode cryingsaying everything that we don’t like to each other… hahaha almost half an hour crying in the bathroom telling us the truth, it has to happend at some point!… not always can get along with everyone and this kind of situation makes you grow as a person, mature in a certain way… you learn to manage certain kind of situations; and that’s how we arrainge everything. haha we had to otherwise i would lost my mind!.
Since Tuesday july 27 we’re in Tucson, and thursday, friday and saturday we were working at the Marriot Hotel, it’s a resort & spa, in the middle of nowhere! but is BE-AU-TI-FUL! and we were there because of the 45th UWPIAA (up with people international alumni association), aniversary! a great responsability, because we where the current cast we had to prove that we are the BEST! and we DID IT!!!, all the alumni were so amazed by us! i met a lot of wonderful people, among those… one of the most amazing ones that i’ve met so far… Pamela Murtaugh, this women, is simply and fully extraordinary!; she manage to gather a bit more than 5000 people (mostly students) during the (i think ) 2007 summer, to help the people from the hurricane “Katrina”, by herself she made that message of dispare , cry of help that all the people were making at that time devastated by the Hurricane, made thru everything so they can have a little hope, that they’re not alone in their despair , and mostly that there’s people willing to help.
I got completely impress by Mr. Bell’s stories, he’s the founder of Up with People, and he told us how is that this organization was born back in those difficult years in the 60′s, and how they made China to invite them to do a show there! and how in a certain point they felt segregation because China wanted more Mexicans participating in the program back in those days. until someone rise his voice and they “fix” that misunderstanding. Or how during Mr. Martin Luther King’s speach, Mr. Bell invite him to have dinner at his house… and he went!!!!, along with other 33 more people!.
Stories of how the Colwell brothers were a huge part of this history, and by the way… i have the book of this and they gave me they’r autograph!!!!
Thousand of stories!, every 5 years (depending on the year of your cast) they have a reunion, so… in five years we will have our first reunion!
everything… is wonderful!

Padrisimo!
